2024 - Jones Horan auction, 22 Aug 2024, est $800-1,000, sold $750, "LPW - Haas Neveux & Co, Swiss, (marked to case only as "H.N. & Co."), marked to mvt and dial for retailer Samuel Kirk & Son Co., miniature pendant watch, 26mm, 18K multicolor gold OF original H.N. & Co. case with superb Art Nouveau style flower in raised detail to rear with leaves wrapping around band, attached 14K rose and yellow gold (tested) flower pin, swivel pendant, gold cuvette, fancy white enamel dial with gold foil outer chapter minute marks, SW-SS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, 17J, plates with original finish entirely lost but with imparted fine scratch striations throughout approximating a satin finish, s#35441 within case. Gross weight of assembled 18K gold watch 14.2 dwt (22.1 g). Gross weight of 14K gold pin 3.5 dwt (5.5 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, poor cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates have been sanded creating fine scratch striations throughout and nearly fully eliminating the signature, fine scratches to plates; dial with few hls, edge chip under bezel at 6, few small edge flakes under bezel with the largest at 1; excellent hands, hour and minute are a slightly darker gilt than seconds-hand; case shows very little wear, no dents or dings, excellent engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal. Pin shows little wear, some reduction of engraving detail." |
